Happy Mexican constitution day! Includes Pug.
The document that saw our nation come out of a bloody revolution was drafted today 101 years ago.
It also means parking meters are free.
Not that I fit in anyway.
The spot is 10cm shorter than my car, so I always have to park in end spots.
Have a frech Pug for your troubles:
Two cars you can’t have in muricaland: Pug has many a smog check tags.

Are you in the United States of Import Restrictions?

Wow I forgot the RCZ existed. I use to see them daily a few years ago and now they’ve pretty much disappeared.

It wasn’t particularly quick or sporty and many complained about the seating position.
Its more of a “what’s wrong with this picture” than a sports car

You love to rub it in don’t you?

Hey! We have archaic laws too!
I need to either buy it brand new in Europe or The US or wait six years for cars from either region.
Japan is another story, limited to the 25 year or older rule.
:(.

The styling never looked right to me. And being FWD and hugely more expensive than a Miata didn’t help either.
Though now depreciation has hit them hard and I could see the appeal as a first car.

It’s basically the coupe form of a compact hatchback/wagon designed in their malaise era heyday. I don’t really care for it, and this is coming from someone who daily drives a Peugeot coupe and has a Peugeot convertible as a project/weekend toy.

Someone in my grandparent’s village has an HDi one and they’re mad proud of it!
Funny, I wish I fit inside a Miata..

Exactly. Like the Opel Tigra.
Except that I really want a Tigra.

What if you want to import a 7 year old car from Europe that was originally registered in Japan?
![]() 02/05/2018 at 09:57 |

No can do, car must be european made or american made or sold on either market, they check the VINs.

The Tigra is based on the subcompact Corsa, but yes. I’d highly prefer the RCZ over that GM POS though.

Also a pug:

Well, there goes another potentially-profitable-who-am-I-kidding-there’s-no-real-market idea.

My dream is for my book to be published and that with the cash I can open a store that specializes in making classic cars like the mk1 range rover and the austin mini real everyday drivable cars for those who can afford such excess.
I’d have to import them and fit new motors in them (or else they’re subjected to Hoy No Circula) I’d also have to figure out a way to have a modern car feel with old car looks.
But first, a RWD CTR swap twingo

I want the Tigra out of sheer wierdness.
First thing out is that crappy motor.
In a long enough timeline everything gets an LS.

Somewhat affordable Singer/Icon/Eagle-lites then? You’ll have Oppo lining up to buy those cars secondhand!
I initially thought you meant this CTR:
The other one is fine too I guess.

I’d make an Oppo gala in the dealership.

How did you guess!? I guess no matter how I type, you know Mexico’s hat lives under a repressive regime

I think one of the 2020 candidates wants to remove the restriction?
![]() 02/05/2018 at 14:17 |

At least make it 15 years like Canada
![]() 02/05/2018 at 14:25 |

Or just make it based on the vehicle.
I’m certain one or two specialty dealers would love to trash a couple of RCZ in crash tests and emissions regs and have them brought to the US and sell maybe a hundred or 200 at a premium.

rare to see an RCZ here ever.
if i was living in Melbourne or Sydney probably see a few more.
